Let's set the stage a bit for what it means to provide a Paranormal Investigation for a client's home or business. The longer I look at paranormal teams and investigators, the more diversity I see on how they perform their investigations and what is involved. I personally cannot assume what each team or individual does but I believe there is a certain ethical standard that should be in place for anyone that is asked to do a paranormal investigation which is supported by protocols and procedures to maintain accuracy and reliable data. I can safely say when you get a group of people involved with a subject that they are passionate about, there are bound to be a few that think more like individuals than as a team member. Some of the worst situations I have experienced as a Founder of a team are the issues that the living dole out, not the dead, so I decided early on to create guidelines for anyone who joins our team. Creating bylaws for your team should set a precedent for any issues or situations that may arise so that there are no in-the-moment decisions that need to be made. During a visit to Walmart, I was standing in the checkout lane placing my items on the check out belt facing the cashier. All of the sudden I felt an invasive energy bump into me which was gray and chaotic. I turned and a woman had come up to stand in line behind me. Her aura had a lot of darkness to it which usually indicates that she has a lot of gunk build up caused by stress, negativity, or illness (maybe all three). I've never been the person to initiate conversation with anyone, so I never approached her, but I do know she needed help. While I have experienced a few cases that I would label as having a portal, I don't have a lot of data that really supports these conclusions. This is where my frequent mention of making sure to have high standards and protocols when investigating paranormal cases is VERY important. A lot of our conclusions may be based on intuition or instincts but also on looking at all the facts and drawing a conclusion based on the information provided. Is this proof? Poltergeist Parallels and Contagion by Darren W. Ritson The author of The South Shields Poltergeist covers a new discussion of what poltergeist phenomenon is capable of from hands on field investigations. Darren forms the theory that the energy associated can cause a type of "contagion" spreading out from the original case to others linked in some way manifesting activity in other places. There are several forwards and notes in the beginning of the book that add onto the theories and ideas to enrich the reading experience. When I delve into books about the paranormal, I look to find thought provoking and out of the box thinking. One of the excerpts from this book that really pulled me in was the discussion regarding poltergeist phenomena being 'person centred' (the book is written in the UK).
